As owner's and principal Directors of the Scarborough International School of English, Rosemary and Rod oversee the smooth and successful operation of the School, employing well qualified members of staff to run each department, liaising with key team members on a daily basis, which ultimately ensures that each student receives the best possible quality service.
Rosemary Glyde is highly qualified in Business Studies. She started her journey with Scarborough International School of English as Welfare/Social Organiser between 1974-1979. After successfully running and owning hotel and tourism businesses in the north and south of England, she returned to Scarborough in 1984 and purchased the School.
With over 20 year experience in the language learning business, Mrs Glyde has built an extensive bank of contacts and knowledge. She has taken the time to travel and meet with representatives from around the world and gained valuable insight into a wide range of cultures. She strongly believes that personal contact and local market knowledge is very important in running one of the oldest and most successful independent language schools in England.

Highly experienced in teaching English to all levels and nationalities, Diana has led the School's Education Department since 1984. Her responsibilities include staffing, supervision and support of the team of teachers at the School, time-tabling, development of resources and materials, overseeing examination entry, University/College placement, student induction, level assessment/placement, student monitoring-attendance/progress and pastoral care for students.
Already a qualified and experienced teacher; Diana moved into English as a Foreign Language in the 1970's, teaching at Scarborough International School of English since 1976. She holds a Dip. RSA and over the years, she has also attended many courses to develop her skills as an EFL Teacher. She has an extensive network of contacts in Higher and Further Education across England. |

Linda has a central role in ensuring the quality of host family accommodation is maintained.
Her responsibilities include: the careful selecting and vetting of host families (existing and new) on a yearly basis to British Council Regulations, processing applications and carefully selecting suitable, compatible host family accommodation for students, and liaising with host families.
Linda joined the School as the Children's Activity Organiser in 1994, after gaining her Diploma in Child Care covering areas such as Observation, Health Care, Child Protection, Child Development, Safety and the Environmental and Special Needs, skills which she uses everyday in her current role.

Highly experienced in the industry and in managing people from all over the world, Julie takes care of the smooth and friendly running of Scarborough International School. She is responsible for the recruiting and managing of all the school employees and liaising with key members in each department on a daily basis, which ultimately ensures that each student receives the best possible quality service.
Julie has recently returned to the school after 10 years in Santiago, Chile where she successfully opened the British Academy, providing English language training for a wide range of students from private courses for children to professional business courses and examination preparation for older students. She also recruited and coordinated study programmes to Scarborough International School for over 400 Chileans. |

Anne has been teaching English as a foreign language for twenty two years. She was born in Scarborough and moved to Spain in 1981 where she taught English to students of all ages, levels and professions. She has learnt to speak Spanish fluently thus gaining an insight into particular problems of Spanish speakers learning English.
She returned to Scarborough in 1999 and has continued to teach English to many different nationalities which she thoroughly enjoys. She is also very keen to keep abreast of further developments in this field and thinks continued professional development essential. |
