What information does Scarborough International School of English gather about you?

We require that potential customers supply personal information, including name, address telephone/fax number and email address, age, mother tongue, any prevailing medical conditions or dietary requirements when booking.

What does Scarborough International School of English do with the information it gathers?

All the information you supply will only be used by the staff of the school to provide the services you have requested. Information will be passed to Host families and Academic staff where relevant and may be viewed by British Council Inspectors for the purpose of continued Accreditation and in some rare circumstances, by the authorities. Financial details will only be used to access fees, according to your instructions.

Information will be stored for a minimum of one year, up to a maximum of five years, and may be used to keep you informed of new products or special offers.

Upon request, we will remove any subscriber and his/her personal information, from our database.

Web Pages visited will be logged for the purpose of improving navigation and marketing of the website.

Does Scarborough International School of English share this information?

We do not release personal information about any of our clients, or potential clients to any third parties, other than those named above.

Scarborough International School of English is not responsible for the content or the privacy policies of web sites linked to theirs.

Our secure web pages are being hosted by Secure Hosting Ltd. The systems used by Secure Hosting and its payment gateway UPG for the processing & storage of card information are audited and validated by Qualified Security Assessors to the highest possible standard available under the PCI DSS scheme.

Pancake Day

21st February, 2012

We took our students down to the Foreshore in the afternoon to let them experience how Shrove Tuesday is celebrated in the traditional Scarborough way – skipping on the beach. It is believed that its origins lie in the local fishermen sorting their ropes and nets out at this time of year – they would give the children the ones which were no good for fishing. An afternoon of physical exertion was finished off with some well-earned fish'n'chips on the seafront.
