Employment Vacancies at Scarborough International School of English
Teachers:
Qualified TEACHERS REQUIRED for the summer period:
We are looking for teachers who are passionate about English language learning to teach on our summer courses either at the Year Round Centre or at our Summer Vacation Centre in Scarborough.
Minimum requirements for teachers:
- CELTA/Cert.TESOL or equivalent
- 1st degree
- Or Qualified Teacher Status
A CELTA/Cert.TESOL equivalent qualification must contain at least six hours supervised teaching practice and be validated by a recognised body.
QTS: A PGCE in a relevant subject (eg English, Modern languages) and/ or experience in teaching the relevant age level is an appropriate qualification for teaching under 18s on our summer courses.

We are looking for team leaders to guide and care for groups of students of different nationalities from all over the world.
Applicants should be confident, friendly and professional.
Successful applicants will begin training during the Easter holidays and commence working from the end of June for a minimum of three weeks up to a maximum of eight weeks.

Pancake Day

We took our students down to the Foreshore in the afternoon to let them experience how Shrove Tuesday is celebrated in the traditional Scarborough way – skipping on the beach. It is believed that its origins lie in the local fishermen sorting their ropes and nets out at this time of year – they would give the children the ones which were no good for fishing. An afternoon of physical exertion was finished off with some well-earned fish'n'chips on the seafront.
