Our Homestay Service
As part of our service for students, our Accommodation and Welfare
Manager can arrange Homestay accommodation for you.
A carefully selected English Host Family, located within easy
walking distance of the School, will be allocated for you. Our
student evaluations show that students enjoy the Homestay programme
and the quality of accommodation and food. Homestay accommodation
is a great way to learn more about English life and to practise
your conversation skills too!
What is Homestay Accommodation?
Homestay accommodation includes full board accommodation, which
means:
- continental style breakfast
- a packed lunch is provided for School every day
- dinner every evening with the family
Students under 18 years may share a room with another student,
but all those 18 years and over have a room of their own. No student
is placed in a Host Family with another student who speaks the
same language, unless requested.
Homestay accommodation costs just £115 per week.
How it works
- Normal Arrival Day - Sunday
- Normal Departure Day - Saturday
Extra nights are charged at £20 per night.
How to book your accommodation online
When you add a course to your basket, simply select the length of accommodation you require. You will then be taken to the booking form which you must complete to register with the School. The form includes a section about Homestay Accommodation. Just
fill this in, telling us as much information as possible, so we
can match your needs with a suitable family. We ask you about
things like smoking, your hobbies, medical conditions, pets and
children. We also need a contact name and details in case of emergencies.
When we receive your booking form we will process your application.
Confirmation of your accommodation address / telephone number
and Host Family profile will then be sent to you with your Certificate
of Registration as soon as possible.
The Host Families
We have a wide range of Host Families - they are carefully selected
and most have worked with our School for many years. The Accommodation
and Welfare Manager works closely with the families to arrange
appropriate placements and to ensure that the families meet the
quality and safety guideline (the Code of Practice), set by English UK Member
and the British Council.
Travel Arrangements
Please give as much information as possible on your booking form
to enable your Host Family and/or our Accommodation Manager to
successfully meet you on arrival. If there are delays during your
journey please do keep in touch with the School or the Host Family.
Extra Nights
If you need to book and extra nights, please let us know on your
booking form, to enable us to co-ordinate bookings and comply
with our insurance needs. Sometimes you may arrive later or earlier
than planned (due to flight changes for example) and if this happens,
please make sure you let us know.
Health Care
If there is a health problem during your stay, you will be referred
to the doctor or dentist of the Host Family and the Accommodation
and Welfare Manager will also be notified. Please bring any medication
you may need with you. The School staff and host families are
unable to administer any form of medication to a student, including
paracetamol.
Special Requirements
If you have any special requirements for your accommodation please mention them on the enquiry form. We will always try our best to provide you with the most suitable accommodation, but please note that this is subject to availability.
Self-contained accommodation
If you prefer to arrange your own accommodation, we recommend
you book this directly.
